You wouldn’t wear a stranger’s clothes just because they hang in your closet, yet so many of us live with other people’s design choices for years, if not decades.

My name is Yelena Moroz Alpert and you should think of me as your interior stylist — my approach is to make you feel good about your house decor. My services work best for those who want to give their interiors an update without going through a lengthy (and expensive) gut renovation.

My background as an interior design journalist is instrumental in presenting you with designs that are contemporary, yet timeless. I know about the latest wallpaper collaborations, the best new light fixture and which paint colors will help you sell your house. I have written about ornamental plaster that won’t make your house look dated for the New York Times and about the merits of floral wallpaper for the Wall Street Journal.

Having worked as a writer an editor for House Beautiful and Architectural Digest, I have a sharp eye for creating a focal point in a room and introducing color without being ostentatious.

The homes in the Heights have so much character and my goal is to help you preserve the charm while introducing modern elements that will make your house feel fresh and inviting. I am here to help with project big and small —- whether it’s a bathroom facelift or a fireplace mantle makeover.

We can start with a free 15-minute virtual consultation to help me understand your preferences and design aspirations.

Let’s begin.
